Jol Hopes for West Ham Tie!

The FA Cup, for some clubs, retains that element of romance about it.

Some clubs are realistic enough to accept that the two domestic cups are the only two trophies they stand a realistic chance of winning.

Therefore, you have to admire Martin Jol`s stance when he re-iterated ahead of our 3rd round tie with Blackpool that he`d field his best team and would be looking for a decent cup run.

But as we`re all aware, best laid plans often go wrong!

Blackpool proved to be more than capable opposition and tonight we face a difficult trip, up to the north-west, to try and grab our place in the 4th round.

But even then those best laid plans have hit a major obstacle with the winners of our replay tonight being drawn to play either Manchester United or West Ham, forcing Martin Jol to wryly comment,

"I was really happy to go to Blackpool until I saw the draw."

"But if West Ham can beat United, we could have a lovely derby game."

We could, but watching West Ham United on their travels recently, I just can`t see it happening, can you?
