Diarra Misses Out on African Nations Cup

It was something that Martin Jol felt uneasy about, the fact that Mali had selected a player for the African Nations Cup when he was clearly injured.

Thankfully, the situation has now been resolved amicably.

Mahamadou Diarra (31) will take no part in the African Nations Cup, with Mali, with the knee injury Fulham inferred he had proving enough to see the player returned to West London for further treatment.

It would appear that, for a change, common sense has prevailed.
