'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Long Wait!

Sometimes, after a display of such ineptitude, I reckon a fan should be allowed to ride home on the team bus to air his views and see just how a defeat affects our players.

Yesterday, the journey back from Liverpool, in such poor weather, must have tested the patience of a saint.

Flicking through the press this morning, it`s hard, on the evidence of yesterday, to disagree with the inference that we`re a team who are playing poorly and it wouldn`t take too much too see us slide towards the trap door.

In his post-match press conference, Martin Jol lamented the loss of so many of his normal starting eleven and seemed to pin his hopes on everything being okay when they returned, remarking,

"We conceded cheap goals and almost played against ourselves."

"There were too many disappointments. I don`t even think Liverpool played t their strengths, they were okay but not great."

"You have to be up for it, and although we were motivated to play against Liverpool, conceding the first like we did is a big disappointment and we`re probably not strong enough to overcome these sort of problems."

But what if it is all too late when they all come back Martin?

Whoever was responsible for selling Dembele and Dempsey without replacing them is also responsible for our current position. We are drastically below par in the midfield. We doon't even have a strong starting midfield let alone any depth! The money raised from the sale of those two needs to be spent on the midfield and a new starting center back.

We have had our first choice defence (back 4 and keeper) in place for the last two games so why have we conceded six goals? I only saw MOTD but the Berb seems to be coming a bit of a prima donna.

Agree with you chanter, brede seems not to be up for it, i wont be surprised if he moves on in jan. Not a good captain. I think in jan money needs to be spent on a creative midfield and centre back with prem experience
