Hangeland Returns

Hangeland Returns

With his three game ban now served, Brede Hangeland is set to return to the Fulham starting eleven for the clash with Newcastle this Monday night.

The suspension, received for the first red card of his career, has been a suspension that saw us hit a bad patch defensively.

But, what was also unique about the suspension was that it followed an apology by Hangeland, too the referee, for committing the foul that saw Lee Probert wave the red card.

Ahead of the clash with Newcastle, Hangeland has spoken about that apology, remarking to the media,

"I shouldn`t have made the tackle like I did, whether people thought it harsh or not."

"I really do appreciate that referees have a difficult job and they do not want to give out red cards."

"I hadn`t been sent off before, but there is a first time for everything. It`s not something I ever want to repeat."

I wonder how many other players would have been so humble and as honest as our Brede?
