Hangeland Apology

Hangeland Apology

In days gone by, the tackle made by Brede Hangeland, on Lee Cattermole, wouldn`t have even brought a finger wagging from the referee.

But times have moved on and the laws now state, however harshly we may felt we were done by yesterday, two footed tackles are outlawed.

Brede may have looked a forlorn, hard done-by character when he trudged off the Craven Cottage pitch yesterday, but he did have the character to, later, apologize to the match referee, Lee Probert, for his tackle, prompting Martin Jol to remark,

"Yeah, because he`s a nice boy!"

"But he confirmed it wasn`t intentional and that he slipped. It`s not a common thing for him."

Indeed it is not and red cards, for Fulham players are, as you`d expect from our well respected club, a rarity.
