Bent - A Realistic Target?

Having already declared that he is more than happy with a striking trio of Rodallega, Berbatov and Petric, could Martin Jol be about to add a fourth star name?

The reason we ask is that one Sunday paper has linked us with a cut-price move for the out of favour Aston Villa striker Darren Bent

The red-top suggests that Jol is keen for Fulham to underline their ambition by making a statement of intent and purchasing Bent for a fee, said to be in the region of £8 million.

Jol is along time admirer of Bent having previously remarked,

"If your club wants to be top 10, you need strikers such as Darren Bent, who`ll score 15 to 20 goals a season."

Will Fulham splash some of the cash they received for the sales of Dempsey and Dembele to lure Bent to London?

It remains to be seen.

You've got no chance if yo think 8m will be acceptable, we paid 24m for him two years ago, so you are probably looking in the region of 13-15m if you want any sort of deal.

Realistic for Fulham? Definately, going places under Jol and doing a lot better than us, you are a London based club which adds the attraction, no reason why Bent wouldn't jump at the chance to go to Fulham. 8m? Maybe not, 10-12 then yeah we would jump at the chance, might fit in your team, doesn't for us anymore, he needs things going his way to score goals and for us it isn't.

well, he's missed the bus RE: the England team and I reckon that he'd rather sit on the bench, than play and not score, as his goals to games ratio will go down and that's all he seems bothered about. Please take him off our hands.
