Greek Midfielder Signs

The transfer window has shut but it hasn`t stopped Martin Jol doing some more transfer business.

Rumours had been doing the rounds earlier in the week that something was afoot and the cub has confirmed this afternoon that they have snapped up, on a free transfer, the Greek midfielder Giorgis Karagounis

Karagounis has signed until the end of the season and here at Vital Fulham I`d hope we`ll give him a warm welcome when he is unveiled at Craven Cottage this Saturday when we entertain West Bromwich Albion.

Cool! He's 12 days older than Danny Murphy. That's great! I was just thinking how we desperately needed some more age in the midfield. Seriously though, I hope he comes in and plays great. He's a solid professional and has had a good career. I'll try to be optimistic. However, this does NOT fill me with confidence, as it smacks of desperation. That said, I trust Jol. Welcome aboard Giorgos.

Well I think its good business....well what option has jol he lost dempsey and demebele with the season started. The driving force of the midfield and attack.....Danny wanted more than a year and got blackburn. If it was up to jol all would have stayed but they wanted to go so it was out of his hands....At least he continued to work hard to get players in and if they want to play and work hard its all good.....i hope!!! I fear you boys are out to blame jol for the loss of those players.....get over it, they wanted out.....so be it!

let's hope he tides fulham over until the january window when we might be able to do some real business...

Leonestar, get over what? What the **** are you on about now? No one said anything about blaming Jol. I don't blame Jol for a thing. I said that 'I trust Jol.' I don't know how to be more clear. I don't know which 'you boys' you're talking about, but if you're referring to comments made by others responding to previous articles about the Dempsey/Dembele situation, then I suggest you 'get over it.'

Teddy I like your remark, "this does not fill me with confidence, as it smacks of desperation" similar comments made when bobby left and the russian came in. When he scored few congratulated. I stopped myself making a comment but again I see the same situation.

Ok Teddy and Old Wolf look at the article "One in and one out" on the 31st jan 2012 and you tell me that was support for jol. Oh how wrong were you. Maybe jol might just know what h is doing. Anyway we are still in prem yes. finished top 10 yes. So stuff your doom and gloom un supportive biased comments......go and support that lot up the road! Fulham does not need supporters like you!

Free market looks poor on playmekers now and Karagounis is totally not one of them. I wonder if he'll even play a match this season, with all wingers we got. Duff and Kaca were the best options from the start, imo. But it's squad depth and Jol knows better, of corse.

I support Jol 100%. I always have. My only specific issue with Jol was last season's preference of Senderos to Hughes; a situation which he corrected in the end. My criticism of the Karagounis signing has nothing to do with Jol and whether or not he can do the job. I was just having a little fun (poke) at the signing of someone as old as Danny Murphy. That said, if you think this is part of some 'master plan' and not a reaction to the abject display at West Ham, you're deluded.
