Looking for a Positive!

Martin Jol looked a little bemused sat on the bench yesterday lunchtime.

Whether it was the fact Fulham were being turned over by Wes Ham or the fact that he`d lost two of his best players on transfer deadline day, is hard to say.

But, after the 3-0 defeat, Jol spoke about the sudden changes to his squad and the performance of one player yesterday, remarking to the press hacks,

"Dembele? I really felt he would have stayed with us at Fulham, because £15 million is a big clause."

"ButTottenham, they paid up and they always do that from my time at White Hart Lane. It made life miserable for me."

"I tried everything in the transfer window but we missed out on a couple of player son Friday and, in the end, we have to be happy that Berbatov is here and Rodallega and Petric."

"The only positive here was to see Berbatov again and to see his class and quality. I have missed it."

"Berbatov bought other players into play and that is his talent. Hopefully, with Bryan Ruiz available for the next match we should be a bit more positive."

I hope so because we`ve now lost three on the bounce and that is not an ideal start to the season.

"I really felt he would have stay" - what a lame excuse for a world-class manager.

Does he really think that £15M is a lot of money these days to clubs in the top half of the league, because if he does then he is even more out of touch than I thought he was? Berbatov is a good signing, Richardson I’m not so sure about but that fact remains that we haven’t replaced Dembele or Murphy in the middle of the park and it showed on Saturday
Oldwolf still complaining as usual. When Bobby left and the russian came in you said that we would struggle and now Dembele has gone for good money again you are quick to stick the knife in jol. He turned Dembele into who he is now and for a player who has only one season in the middle of the park that is good money, and he is bringing on younger players. We played well second half of last season and not once did you congratulate. Im guessing you dont like jol and just want him to fail?
Only jol could have got Berbatov!!!!
Only Jol could've got Berbatov to play a Trequartista! That wasn't a bad turn by the way, Berbs did well. It looks like him and Bry are gonna be our new playmakers this season, which seems funny but credible. Ruiz in Dembele's CM place and Berbs in a hole like at Saturday. Hope that will work.

Another transitional season by the looks of things. Having sold Murphy, Dembele, and Dempsey who were all starting players for 2 seasons (more for Dempsey and Murphy), it is going to take time to adapt. Losing Pog was a blow, but I never thought he was as good as the media put him out to be. I think that game will be a one off in terms of the defensvie mistakes. Bryan was looking good in the games with Norwich and Man Utd. If he returns for the West Brom game, which is the plan, the creativity will be down to him. Oh and lets remember, it was an away game and we're pretty poor at them!

we are never good away I still think he could have kept dano for another 2 years he is still as fit as they go does not miss many games look at scholes and Giggs

Third match of the season on the back of an awful week. Under the best of circumstances, we rarely take anyting v. West Ham. Plus, it was an away match. This result was completely predictable and I'm just not bothered by it. We'll get better.
lets hope so
