More to come

I think it's fair to say that Bryan Ruiz hasn't justified his price tag just yet but he, as he told the official website, has vowed that "there's more to come."

For an outlay of £10.6m more than two goals would have been expected but the Costa Rican showed glimpses of what he can do and doing this more from now on is his aim for this season: 'as a player that plays further up the pitch, it is one of my responsibilities to help in that area.

'Whether that is through assists or scoring goals, that's what I am here to do. It would be nice to score a few more as the new season progresses though and that's something that I know that I am capable of doing.'

He doesn't think that he is putting any extra pressure on himself with his thoughts, nor does he feel the expectations of others is adding pressure either with his qualities to be shown this season: 'I think there is more to come. I know that the manager has talked about me making a greater contribution and that he has faith that I can.

'Is that pressure? I don't think so. It is exactly what I want to hear because I came to England to show my qualities.'

Ruiz talks a good talk but delivering is what is needed from him now!

Having had a bit of time to adapt to the English game the glimpses of his best from last season should become more frequent this season and in the seasons to come.

Let's hope we see the form that got us to pay 10.5 mil for him this term, from what I understand he's looked pretty good in pre-season so far.
Oldwolf
hopefully that carries over into the start of the season...
woodysweats
truth is I see him more in a glen Hoddlel type role rather then a striker he need to toughen up a bit
