'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Grabbing Your Attention

Sitting on the tube as it rattled through the underground network, this morning, I couldn`t help but notice some interesting speculation in that free paper everyone grabs - The Metro.

It infers that Fulham are interested in two striking targets, but at opposite ends of the spectrum as I would say.

The first inference is that the summer-long interest in the Huddersfield striker Jordan Rhodes, is set to continue with Fulham trying to lever the Scottish international away from Yorkshire and to London.

The second infers that Martin Jol is trying to lure the Russian international Andrey Arshavin to Craven Cottage. Arshavin has suffered mixed fortunes at Arsenal in recent times and was sent back to Russia on loan for a period last season.

Out of the two, which would you prefer Martin Jol to concentrate his chase on?

arshavin did not impress at arsenal, and i don't think he'd improve at fulham... rhodes for me, thank you...

why buy Rhodes when Trotta had a better goals to game ratio playing for a much worse club in the same league albeit for a much smaller stint. There's absolutely no point in spending big money on someone who's only played in league 1. If Arshavin takes a wage drop and we get him for next to nothing then i don't see why not. people forget the form he showed in euro 2008 and that liverpool game when he first signed for arsenal. if he could recreate that form then he'd be great.

I'll take Arshavin. He is the kind of player who can create his own chances. Given the player turnover that we're having, such a skill could be important to us while the new players get integrated into the system. Arshavin with some consistent playing time I think could flourish. He definitely has the talent - he just needs to learn consistency and stop disappearing in the middle of matches.

Let him play in the hole in a 4-4-1-1 role and he will flourish.
