Rodallega Salary Query!

Being caught by surprise with regards to the announcement that Martin Jol was leading the race to sign the ex-Wigan striker, Hugo Rodallega, there is also some interesting news relating to the player in the tabloid press this morning.

It`s being suggested that when Everton showed an interest in signing him, they were faced with a salary demand of £70,000 a week. The inference then being that David Moyes shied away from the deal and that Fulham were then able to enter into negotiations.

Now knowing how our salary structure works, I`d be shocked if Rodallega were to be offered anything in the region of that kind of salary down at the Cottage!

Hugo wants to go to London, maybe he priced himself out of a move to Everton on purpose

Don't see us paying anything like that to him, more like £35K - £40K tops I would have thought, although without a transfer fee it could go higher
Oldwolf
He's a good player, but hardly prolific. £35K/week even seems a little high based on last season's performance. Injuries aside, it seems obvious he alienated himself, to some extent, with Martinez. Hence, him being used sparingly towards the end of the season. Don't need any attitude issues. I'd like to see him sign, but I won't be broken-hearted if he doesn't.

For 70k a week, he is all yours. Been told from an Everton source that the overall package (I am guessing wages, signing on fee, agent fees etc) for Rodallega was ridiculous and we pulled out. Be shocked if he gets 70k a week, I mean he scored 2 goals last season.

Just saw an announcment on the clubs website that he's officially signed. Guess they worked out the salary stuff. Welcome aboard Hugo!
