Liverpool v Fulham Preview

Tonight Fulham travel to Liverpool, it`s our second visit to the city in the space of four days.

On Saturday we got our backsides well and truly kicked when Everton handed out a 4-0 thrashing and, to be honest, we got what we deserved.

The performance that day was, poor, very poor and tonight, a fit again, Martin Jol will be looking for a vastly improved performance against a Liverpool side who carved out a fine 3-0 win at Carrow Road at the weekend.

Several of the Fulham players will be perfectly aware that the display against Everton wasn`t of the standard required and that a vast improvement is needed.

Moussa Dembele has stepped forward to admit as much in the pre-match build-up with the Belgian remarking,

"We can go level on points with Liverpool with a win, which is why I am so hungry to beat them."

"We want to prove ourselves because the Everton game was not our best."

Liverpool`s thinking may be hampered by the fact that they have an FA Cup Final date with Chelsea, this Saturday, meaning that Kenny Dalglish may well decide to rest a few key players, therefore second guessing the Liverpool line-up becomes almost an impossibility.

The clash gives our own John Arne Riise the opportunity to return to the stage he graced for so many years and the Norwegian will be keen to put up a good display. The same also applies to Danny Murphy who also graced the Anfield stage.

Injury wise, Fulham will again be without the injured Grygera, Sidwell and Ruiz whilst Kelly remains doubtful. For Liverpool, Charlie Adam is out for the remainder of the season whilst Andy Carrol missed the fixture at the weekend, at Norwich.

As for predicting a result, my heart tells me we can get something at Anfield but my head tells me the best we can probably get is a draw.
