'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Everton 4 Fulham 0

I`ll keep this as brief as possible, after all nobody wants to read such doom and gloom on a Sunday do they!

Fulham`s adventures up in the land that is Goodison Park remain far from a fairy story and more of a tale of horror and woe.

Having lost 18 games on the bounce there, Fulham extend that figure to 19 games with a woeful display that saw them crushed by Everton.

With Martin Jol sidelined by a chest infection and left back in London, Billy McKinlay took over first team control and didn`t have to wait too long until his charges went behind.

Five minutes had passed when Dembele was adjudged to have fouled Pienaar and from the resulting free-kick Phil Dowd noticed the raised arm of Pogrebnyak deflecting the ball away.

With a penalty awarded Jelavic calmly slotted the ball past Schwarzer to put Fulham a goal behind.

Matters went from bad to worse nine minutes later when Fellaini met a corner with his head and Duff missed the opportunity t hack the ball clear off the line and Fulham were two goals down.

As half time approached it went from bad to even worse when Jelavic scored his second of the game, five minutes before the break. The Croat raced onto a sublime ball from Pienaar to round Schwarzer and leaving Fulham looking at some sort of second half damage limitation exercise.

But matters got even darker on the hour mark when Cahill made it 4-0 with the best goal of the game, a rasping volley after Pienaar had made our defence look static.

Horror tale over - now let`s look forward to our next game, a return to Merseyside to face Liverpool in midweek.
