Villa Deal a Non-Starter

Villa Deal a Non-Starter

Is there set to be another twist in the future of Andrew Johnson?

Linked with a move away from Craven Cottage, it was inferred that Aston Villa, under the managerial guidance of Alec McLeish might be interested in taking AJ to Villa Park.

Well that may not be the case now with it also being inferred that any potential deal would be under threat as AJ`s salary demands are rumoured to exceed the maximum £40,000 a week Villa pay!

Although, with the rumour-mill gathering momentum; we expect AJ to be heading out of Craven Cottage at some time or other this summer.

I wish £40k was our wage cap as Heskey wouldn't be at the club! AJ - no thanks.

I think Villa fans are perhaps getting above their station as things stand, whilst also dismissing the quality that AJ still has. I can see Villa retaining the trimming of their squad, with the likes of Heskey, Dunne and a few others being shown the door and cheaper (not neseceraly worse) options coming in.
