Riise on Dempsey

Where would we be without the goals of Clint Dempsey?

Another goal, on Saturday, ended a goal drought, for the team, that had lasted three games and put us well on the way to picking up three valuable points against Norwich City.

Clint`s contribution to the cause has also been noticed by his team mates with John Arne Riise stepping forward to offer a few comments remarking,

"Talk of Clint going and being attracted to bigger teams? That`s normal."

"If you score that many goals, you keep working hard and are a quality player, then there will always be clubs looking at you. But obviously we want to keep the best players, like Clint."

"Clint is never one who talks that much or who likes to make the headlines. He just lets his football talk."

"As long a she keeps scoring goals, he`s always going to get noticed. If he keeps doing what he`s doing, there is going to be more interest around him."

"It doesn`t surprise me he`s up there with Rooney and Van Persie this year with his goals-scoring. He`s a quality player."

"He has played centre midfield, winger, striker, in behind the striker, so he`s very important. No matter what happens in a game, we can always rely on him. He scores with every part of his body as well. You never know what he`s going to do."

Not too long ago, in fact when the USA had a decent Confederations Cup in South Africa, there was talk of Clint being eyed up by 'bigger-clubs;` but nothing came of it. Would it be too much to wish for something similar to happen this time as well?
