Dempsey Talks

The tabloid press informs their readers this morning that Fulham have started talks with Clint Dempsey about a new contract.

Dempsey, currently a lethal goal machine, has a contract that runs out at the end of next season and Fulham are keen to secure his service son a long term basis with Martin Jol remarking about the situation,

"If Clint Dempsey weren`t here, we wouldn`t be in this position because we have had to rely on him a lot of times to score."

"He`s here for this year and next year so that`s not the problem."

"The problem is we want to keep him for longer - we want to try to keep him here for the next three years."

Don`t we all, don`t we all.

Like it says in the first line of Jol`s comments, where would we be without Clint`s goal-scoring prowess this season?

Hope he wants to extend that would be great news if nothing else we'd get more money for him if he did go in the summer, but lets hope he stays :)
