Not too long ago we pledged to keep an eye on how Pavel Pogrebnyak and Bobby Zamora compare in the scoring stakes.
So far Pavel is leading the way and our new Russian acquisition has certainly impressed our veteran goalkeeper, Mark Schwarzer, with the Australian international remarking,
"Pavel`s scored two very important goals for us and ever since he arrived his workload and commitment have been exceptional."
"With Pavel doing so well it`s definitely eased the loss of Bobby. And if he keeps on scoring, it will help us to keep on getting results."
"Bobby is a top-quality player and it`s a shame to lose him. But these things happen in football and you just have to move on."
Adding a few words of caution we`d like to point out that making an instant impact is a lot easier than making a continued impact, but Pavel is certainly heading in the right direction.
