You Can Only Wonder!

You Can Only Wonder!

With Harry Redknapp being the nations` choice as the natural successor t Fabio Capello, we can only ponder over what might have been.

If Roy Hodgson hadn`t of been tempted by the poisoned chalice that was the Liverpool managerial position and sullied his fine managerial record, would he have been neck-a-neck with Harry when it came to consideration for the England post?

One as we say, can only speculate.

But, with the situation as it is, Roy hasn`t exactly distanced himself from the role, declaring,

"I`m not surprised Harry is the out-and-out favourite."

"Why should I be? He`s very experienced and has a lot of backing."

"If I`m lucky to be considered one of the people who has the right qualities, that`s fine. It`s up to the FA."

"When and if the FA approach me I`ll be able to take stock and make a decision."

"The FA wants the best man for the job, I don`t think being in or out of contract will affect tit."

Has Roy got a slim chance or did that failure at Liverpool blot his copybook?
