'If It's Football, It's Vital'

I`ve Got a Cunning Plan!

Listen in; you`ll like this, hell you might even buy into it.

Let me take you back a few days, I`m sat in my office, it`s Tuesday and I`ve got a chance to do a deal.

I want to sell a lad who has established a reputation as a potential England striker for the 2012 Euro Finals. I get the impression he doesn`t really like me and I`d prefer to cast him adrift.

My boss reckons we should take the best offer, he`s backing me, so let`s get rid.

Some grey haired chap from just up the road had offered me some serious wonga for him, okay it`s not as much as I`d want but beggars can`t be choosers, even more so with that damned deadline approaching.

Besides, I`ve got something else in the pipe-line, some Ruski could be available and willing to come to London.

Okay, time was tight, corners had to be cut, there was a deal to be done.

Stutgartt, Loftus Road and Craven Cottage, a hub of telecommunications purring away and as 23:00 hours comes, the dirty deed is done.

I`ve got rid and got someone in who I can call my player.

Fast forward, it`s Saturday, that lad I let go has started off with a bang he`s got a goal on his debut, so where`s my player?

Oops, he`s missing, some complication about international clearance not coming through. The problem is I`m not sure it`ll be through for next week either!

Told you it was a cunning plan!

Now, I wonder why the support for me is waning!

Nice one! The Zamora deal doesn't make sense, ok if he wants to go then fair enough there isn't a lot you can do nowadays but he was contracted to 2014 and must have been worth more! Also, selling to Hughes? And having no credible plan to replace him? I don't get the cunning plan either
donfulham
I don't get it either if Zamora had handed in a transfer request I could maybe understand it but even then he should have waited until the summer to get a proper price for him and have time to get a replacement this Pogrebnyak smacks of a panic buy and doesn't even have a work permit yet some plan :(
Oldwolf
Po's not a panic buy. Jol had him on a radar for a while, even got recommendations from Hiddink and Advocaat who have been working with Pogrebnyak before. One thing more dissapointing than UK's *****ty immigration policy is that we actually have another target man in the squad completly forgotten - it's Orlando Sa, who've already proven himself capable in games against Chelsea and Norwich. Better let a natural TM play TM I guess instead of feeding long balls to AJ, amirite? Sa is actually useful especially now when he's the only player of a defficit type left. I don't know what's on Jol's mind when he abandons even his own buys like that.

Bayern have just bought Shaquiri for as little as 10 million! We're in desperate need of a new playmaker, where were we then?!

This transfer window is a fail...

jol seemed too concerned with shipping out zamora, and not focused on tactics for man city... dempsey is not a target man, he's better filling the gaps left by the forwards...
