A Time for Peace

And a warm embrace!

Tonight will see Roy Hodgson make a return to Craven Cottage when West Bromwich Albion arrives for a Premier League fixture.

We`ve no doubt that the Craven Cottage support will give Roy a wonderful reception after, during his tenure, the wonderful times we had culminating in that Europa League Final appearance in Hamburg.

But, behind the scenes, the welcome Roy receives may be a little frostier, especially when you consider what Mr Al Fayed remarked about Gentleman Roy when he chose to up sticks to take on what was a doomed role at Anfield, with Al Fayed commenting at the subsequent appointment of Mark Hughes,

"This other guy let us down and just walked away. But now we have a nice guy now. Don`t mention Roy Hodgson any more."

Roy though, has had some kind words about our fine football club, commenting ahead of the fixture,

"Clubs like ourselves look at Fulham and how they established themselves and how we can be like that."

"The stability of the last four or five years is what we need to get but they have done it gradually."

"Don`t forget when he took over Fulham they were just about to go out of business and go into the Conference."

"He is one of the unsung heroes. People don`t talk about his achievements but maybe they should."

After those wonderful words it`d take a harsh man not to embrace a manager who did so much for this club.
