Swap Deal?

With, reportedly, Roy Hodgson showing an interest in luring Brede Hangeland and Damien Duff to the Hawthorns, could a swap deal be put in place?

The reason I`m asking is that several news sources have us showing an interest in the West Bromwich striker, Peter Odemwingie.

Odemwingie had a fantastic period at West Brom last season but hasn`t hit those heights, yet, this season and has, subsequently, slipped down the pecking order.

Nevertheless, West Brom, if the rumours are correct, are still looking at a return of £8 million for a sale.

So could there be something akin to a swap deal?

Stranger things have happened in football!

I'd like to see the guy at Fulham because he's a fellow Russian and the most important he's the one of our few Russian PL players who haven't failed abroad! Yet. Well I'd like us to sign him, of corse not at our key players expense and not for 8 million but for 6m or for 4-5m plus Johnson maybe :)

Damn I remember those Lokomotiv fans made that "thank you WBA" banner right after his departure to West Brom. That's where all those banana jokes started I guess...

he's a good player, but not worth losing hangeland...

Sorry but no way would I swap Brede for him I think that would be tantamount suicide at this stage of the season, plus this guy hasn’t exactly set the premier league alight this season I think I’d rather keep the strikers we’ve got and spend the money in the summer when prices are a bit more sensible - £8 million for a player that can’t even make the West Brom first eleven I don’t think so.

Thought I should mention although he was initially eligible for Russia and Uzbekistan he's actually a Nigerian footballer... capped, the lot. I hate to also say that it's not 'Brede' mentioned with the swap, it's 'Baird'.... So dont panic, Martin Jol hasn't completely lost the plot :)
