Schwarzer Signs On

Schwarzer Signs On

All that talk of a possible move to Arsenal seems an age ago now doesn`t it.

Although our Australian keeper is currently sidelined with a back injury, the news broke this afternoon that he`d signed a contract extension with Fulham Football Club.

The contract extension, we are led to believe, will keep Schwarzer at Craven Cottage until at least the summer of 2013.

Now as long as we can keep David Stockdale happy we`ll have a pair of keepers to match the best there is in the Premier League.

Schwarzer's been great since his arrival, but I think Stockdale has earned his chance. As Stockdale has been clear that he wants the #1 shirt, I suspect this will not make him at all happy and possibly push him towards the exit. I certainly hope not, but I couldn't blame him if it did.
