Rangers Bid Rejected!

Having surmised, yesterday, that QPR had a serious interest in Andrew Johnson, it looks as if interest alone won`t be enough to get a deal struck.

Indeed, it looks as if Martin Jol isn`t going to sell AJ unless the price is right with the boss remarking about the approach being turned down,

"I told Andy what`s the point of selling him for that kind of money to a rival. Of course he will stay here and if he is not signing he can leave at the end of the season."

Whilst accepting that the 2 million offered might be considered somewhat derisory, is it not better than the nowt we`ll get when his contract expires!

Well no, if we are to take that each Prem League place is worth approx. half a mill, then 2 mill is the equivelent to four places. If we have any ambitions of finishing in the top ten then surely it is worth keeping AJ for six months and losing out come June? This is all financially speaking of course as I do personally think he adds to the squad depth and variation that we would not find for 2mill elsewhere.
