Smalling Grateful

Smalling Grateful

A former Craven Cottage favourite makes a return tonight in the colours of another club.

Chris Smalling, signed from non-league football and nurtured by the Fulham coaching staff, is set to be a part of the Manchester united starting eleven tonight.

Smalling, since leaving Craven Cottage, has become an England international and has shown that the promise he displayed in our colours was only an inkling of what to come, hasn`t forgotten his roots though and speaking ahead of his return had this to say,

"Without Roy Hodgson giving me my chance there, I wouldn`t be here. I had a big two years there and it`s a time I look back upon fondly."

"It will be nice to go back and see a few of the players and play back at the Cottage."

And we`re sure that Chris will get a decent reception from the Fulham faithful.
