Wanted - Some Ambition and Desire!

Wanted - Some Ambition and Desire!

It was a sobering experience summing up the performance in the pub last night.

The consensus of opinion being that we didn`t look anything like the team that had destroyed Queens Park Rangers in the previous game and that we lacked ambition with regards to taking the game to Stoke City.

Martin Jol, in his post match press interview, came up with a couple of intriguing comments.

The first one we`ve picked on being,

"We have to be stronger against teams like Stoke, although I don`t think the referee helped us."

Stronger! We need to get amongst them. And as for the referee, this will be the same referee Jol protected in midweek after he`d been criticised for wrongly sending off Jack Rodwell in the Merseyside derby. It can be a strange world can`t it?

The second one we`ve picked up on,

"We contained them pretty well, but if you are hoping for a nil-nil you have to do your bit for 90 minutes and not just 80 minutes."

It sort of sums up all our frustrations at paying an absolute fortune on the road with Fulham, to know that the peak of our ambition was settling for the 0-0 we started with.

Appalling!

I`m back off down the pub!

True. Jol's too realistic! If he haven't got full control of the game he will not even think of winning it! Wolves, ten men Chelsea, and now - Stoke.. Jol's too afraid of losing the game and he loses it.
