Jol to Get FA Rap!

Sat watching the Merseyside derby, the red card awarded to Jack Rodwell, by Martin Atkinson, did appear harsh.

In the end, common sense prevailed and the red card was rescinded.

Since then, there have been calls for the referee, Martin Atkinson, to be demoted to the Championship as some kind of punishment.

Martin Jol doesn`t think that should be the case and ahead of the trip to Stoke, a fixture Atkinson will take charge of, Jol is attributed as having commented by the tabloid press,

"A good referee making one mistake, I don`t think you should punish him."

"I won`t be warning my players about him."

Now you`d think there was nothing wrong in what Jol has said. Unfortunately, the FA take a dim view of any talk about referee`s and it`ll be interesting to see if Jol cops an FA rap similar to those dished out to Sir Alex Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti last season when they committed a similar offence(?).

What's "FA rape"? Sounds like Jol's in a bit of a danger
