Eight Games Without a Win

Is it time to get worried?

Martin Jol thinks not with our Dutch manager not that concerned that we`re in a run of games whereby we can`t harvest a win for the love of money.

Having not won for eight games, Jol has, on the eve of our Europa League fixture with Odensk, remarked,

"I think we will turn a corner somewhere. A draw is not a defeat."

"If we had four of five defeats, it would have been a disaster. It`s a very thin line. Aston Villa have had five draws and one win and they`ve got a good position in the league."

Unfortunately, the longer this run goes on the more the pressure increases.

How about a win tonight followed by one this weekend against Queens Park Rangers!

That would be very welcome, we need to get some more points on the board

Not too worried yet, we've looked better at the back with Jol in charge than Hughes we just need to stop messing about when we get the ball in the final third. I continue to worry about our strikers, Zamora I'm still not convinced is fully fit after that horrible injury last season, Dembele never plays in the position of a centre forward (not sure if that is on purpose or whether he just likes wandering around like Dempsey), Ruiz the jury is still out (he hasn't exactly hit the ground running in the Premier League) the one positive seems to be that Andy Johnson is starting to look like he might finally be getting up to speed. In a nutshell if we could be more clinical in front of goal we'd be far higher. Remember how we looked at Christmas? I thought we were in big trouble last year and yet look how we did in the end!
