'If It's Football, It's Vital'

West Brom 0 Fulham 0

The spoils were shared at the Hawthorns this afternoon but Fulham will look back on the game and think they could have taken all three points.

With the team sheets being handed out, Bobby Zamora and Damien Duff were both absent through injury and Sa and Grygera were given their Premier League debuts.

Martin Jol, returning to a place where he played as a player, would have wanted Fulham to get of to a solid start and that is exactly what they did.

In fact it`s fair to say that Fulham, with a defence superbly marshalled by Hangeland and Baird nullified any attacking threat West Brom had in the first forty-five minutes.

Looking back, Fulham could, and should have, score din the first half. Sa saw a twenty yard shot deflected for a corner while Kasami had a goal wiped out due to offside after he`d netted after Foster had parried en effort from Dempsey. It was a very marginal decision.

With the break approaching, Long drove a shot wide for West Brom and Dembele could have done better when presented with a chance that he fire dover.

Half Time - West Brom 0 Fulham 0

Our hosts started the second half better and were looking dangerous with a couple of set pieces. But it was Fulham that almost took the lead when Dempsey saw a shot hit the post.

One push forward, from West Brom, saw Dorrans play a lovely ball through to Odemwingie but the striker shot straight at Schwarzer. As time started to run down Riise saw a free kick wonderfully saved by Foster with the keeper turning his effort against the post.

All square as Stuart Atwell called an end to proceedings. Definitely two points dropped on reflection I`d say!
