Jol`s Carling Cup Aspirations!

Jol`s Carling Cup Aspirations!

Any thoughts that might be in circulation about Martin Jol not taking a serious interest in the Carling Cup, have been blown away by some comments made at his pre-match press conference.

With our opponents, Chelsea, looking to give youth a chance Jol has given a clear indication that he has a vision of Fulham at Wembley, when he commented,

"The Carling Cup is there for teams like Fulham to win."

"At some stage you have to play a team like Chelsea, though it would have been nice to play them in the final."

Although Jol hinted that Andrew Johnson, John Arne Riise and Simon Davies are all out, the prospects are that it could very well be a strong Fulham side running out in front of 6,000 away fans at Stamford Bridge tonight.

Not a bad match for the mostly reserve squad. Just wish we could convert a penalty at Stamford Bridge. No complaints, though.
