Fulham 2 Manchester City 2

Fulham may well be still searching for that elusive first home win in the Premier League but the result today will give many Fulham supporters a lot of satisfaction.

With big-spending Manchester City in town, it was always going to be hard to get a result, even more so when our visitors went two goals up, but Fulham refused to buckle and clawed back a point.

The game started quietly until, in the eighteenth minute, City took the lead through Sergio Aguero. The goal came as a result of Gareth Barry and David Silva combining to produce a great ball for Aguero to slot home.

Schwarzer pulled off a great save to deny City doubling their lead, clawing away a shot from Edin Dzeko after yet another smart ball from Silva.

Fulham`s best chances, in the first half, came through Clint Dempsey. One effort saw Hart scrambling the ball away after he`d cleared a free kick straight to Dempsey whilst another, from the edge of the area, saw Hart produce a decent save.

If Fulham were looking to get back on level terms early in the second half they were in for a shock as City doubled their lead very early on. Once again the goal came from Aguero.

Clichy saw his ball moved on by Dzeko for Aguero to beat Schwarzer for his eighth goal of the season. It didn`t take long for Fulham to reduce the arrears, some nine minutes, when Zamora collected a lovely pass from Dempsey and curled it past Hart.

The goal gave Fulham some impetus and Dembele was the next to try his luck, forcing a great save from Hart. Dempsey then saw Hart turn his header over the bar, from a corner, before Riise sliced a shot wide.

But with fifteen minutes left, Fulham got their reward for their pressure when Murphy shot form distance and saw if deflect past Hart off of Kompany. Stoppage time saw Toure fire a shot just wide but Fulham deserved their point for a spirited comeback.

Great performance from the lads. Jol is slowly getting them to gel to his tactics.
