Not Our Clint?
The declaration from Clint Dempsey that he wants to play Champions League football makes today a very fraught day.
With Arsene Wenger looking to make mass-signings, after his team was humbled up at Old Trafford on Sunday, there is a distinct possibility that he may cast an envious eye towards Craven Cottage with the view of making an offer for Dempsey.
If that were to be the case then things would need to move remarkably quickly but isn`t that always the case on transfer deadline day!
Keep those fingers crossed that Dempsey isn`t snaffled by a side participating in the Champions League, it would do our season untold damage!

I'm with you Woody. I like Dempsey, but i think he's right where he needs to be. I think he would quickly find himself far outside the starting eleven at a big club. He's a good player at a good club and I hope he does not get delusions of grandeur.

He would go the way of Malbranque, Boa Morte and Bullard who were stars for us but moved on and never hit those heights again! (you could add Legwinski to that list as well!)

Rarely do players leave us and become better. Van der Sar and Saha did well, but all the others kind of dwindled. It was good we kept him. I heard that Chadli from FC Twente was going to be his replacement if he went.
