Fulham v Dnipro Preview!

Our bid to qualify for the Europa League proper continues tonight with the first leg of the final qualifying tie.

Our opposition are Dnipro and the fixture provides a clash that many thought might not happen.

The tie has pitched Martin Jol against the very man Tottenham recruited when Jol was unceremoniously ousted as the boss of Spurs, Juande Ramos.

Naturally, the tabloid media have made a big thing about it but Jol remains, to a degree, unfazed, simply remarking ahead of the game,

"This game is not about him. It`s about other people, always."

"I`ve had over 1,100 games as a player and a manager and I know this happens."

"The main thing is to get to the next round. I`ll forget him and we go on. He`ll probably forget me as well."

"It is my first time to play against one of Ramos` teams because they are a bit far away to play every week."

Having already played numerous times in this competition and having also kick-started our Premier League campaign with a 0-0 draw against Aston Villa, on Saturday, Jol has also indicated that he may mix things up tonight, further commenting,

"I`ve been here for nine weeks now and we will probably play another style up front for the first time."

"We`ll wait and see, I`m very confident. We have to trust all our players so we will play a few others."

I`ll leave you to second guess who`ll be rested and who`ll be making an appearance but suffice to say it`s imperative that we do enough in this tie to, hopefully, put this tie to bed or perhaps, more realistically, give ourselves a good chance of progressing to the group stages.

Cheered on by a buoyant Craven Cottage crowd this will hopefully be the case!

I think we definitely need a good result tonight we don’t want to be going to their place next week looking to have to take the game to them
