Playing at Statues!

Putting a statue of Johnny Haynes outside Craven Cottage was a great move.

Haynes was a legend and the statue a fitting tribute to the service he gave our club.

Now I`m not sure the statue of Michael Jackson can be talked about in a similar fashion.

But statues are common place these days.

Off the top of my head I can think of several clubs who have gone down this route - Sir Bobby Robson (Ipswich), Billy Bremner (Leeds) and Peter Osgood (Chelsea), to name but three.

Last week, Coventry City unveiled a statue of Jimmy Hill.

Hill, now eighty-two years old, was a splendid servant of the Midlands club and the statue does him justice, come to think of it he didn`t do too badly for our club did he, well a lot better than Michael Jackson ever did!

it's an ugly statue that doesn't look like MJ and from what I noticed the other day the arms are out of proportion with the body but move on, it's not like it's coming down any time soon
