'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Shameful!

Tonight our campaign to qualify for the Europe League proper continues with a tricky third qualifying round tie, against RNK Split, in Croatia.

Having already played FOUR competitive fixtures, albeit against far from top-notch opposition, you`d have thought that the tabloid media would be keen to report about some competitive football rather than the run-of-the-mill let`s make twenty-odd substitutions friendly fixtures, but not so!

The Sun does its best to placate us Fulham supporters by carrying a few quotes form Danny Murphy, quotes that carry no resemblance to our ongoing Europa League campaign, whilst also mentioning in the briefest possible way that Martin Jol might give debuts to his recently signed duo of Marcel Gecov and Pajtim Kasami, but little else.

Whilst the Daily Mirror, well the one I picked up from the local newsagents, doesn`t even mention our fixture tonight apart from in the fixtures column.

Shameful when you consider that it wasn`t too long ago that we made the final of the damn competition!

Stopped over from Vital Villa. You're right Andrew. I've been watching this game from work and it's quite competitive. RNK are actually a very good side and the competitive nature of the Europa league are making this tie very watchable. I hope to see you come out with at least one away goal.
