Keane Link?

Having been in charge at White Hart Lane before being forced out of the door, speculation has been rife, over on the Vital Spurs site, as to whether Martin Jol will return to White Hart Lane with a view to luring some of those players he`s previously coached to Craven Cottage.

This morning, the tabloid press, have wasted no time in offering the first link with the inference that Jol could very well be interested in bringing Robbie Keane to Craven Cottage.

Keane, who was on loan at West Ham towards the back-end of last season, is mentioned as being in the £4 million bracket. At thirty years of age he should still have plenty to offer but, as the tabloid press have pointed out, if he were to come to Craven Cottage he may well have to take a pay-drop from the reputed £70,000 a week he`s currently on.

Keep them peeled as the legendary Shaw Taylor used to say!

just to clarify, Keane only has one year leaft on his Tottenham contract, so you would assume there is a deal in there if the parties are willing. Robbie would ideally like to stay in the capital from what I understand, but you also have to consider that the 4m fee suggested is partly based on Spurs offloading him at a fee to compensate his wages. West Ham had an agreement in place to buy him for 6m if they stayed up, so anything less would probably be to get him off of our books. for the record, I still think he has something to offer and could be great value at the fee suggested,.

This would be a good move for Fulham. Keane is very much a confidence player and Jol loves him. He could hit the ground running.

If it's a free transfer and he's paid on a per goal basis, sure. Otherwise, NO!

And Jenas. Need a midfielder?

Is that the best picture you could pick from the Robbie Keane photo archive?? ha

it's odd as he is only thirty, but he feels too old, and hasn't impressed anywhere recently... not for that fee and not on those wages...
woodysweats
Please take him, you can have him on a free.

If jol can get 20 goles out of him along with Zamora why not

Keane hasn't done well anywhere for quite some time now, not too sure I'd want to be playing him as a first choice striker. We need to tie Zamora up and find someone who can play well with him (not convinced Dembele is Zamora's perfect strike partner)
