It`s Martin Jol!

It`s Martin Jol!

As many suspected the fact that we`re involved in the opening stages of the Europa League at the end of this month had a dramatic influence on the allotted timescale Fulham had to replace the departed Mark Hughes.

Yesterday the speculation, in the media, was that it was between Martin Jol and Martin O`Neill.

Well news broke this morning that Fulham have officially announced that Martin Jol has been appointed the new manager and that the Dutchman, who was hotly tipped for the post last summer, has been give a two year contract with the option to extend if to a third year.

Speaking about his appointment, Jol has commented,

"I am very happy to join Fulham. It is a club with good, solid foundations and a great fan base."

"I am looking forward to being part of the Fulham family and thank the chairman for the trust shown in me."

Jol, a respected manager, has previously worked in the Premier League, guiding Spurs to fifth place in consecutive seasons, before being asked to stand down. Since then he has managed Hamburg and Ajax and arrives at Craven Cottage with the supporters expectations that his appointment was bound to happen but has come a year later than previously anticipated.

Here at Vital Fulham we`d like to congratulate him on his appointment and wish him every success.

Congratulations, a good appointment all round I reckon. I can only hope he's treated with a little more respect than he was in his last days at our club. He'll get a fabulous reception at the Lane.

Glad it's all sorted but do have a few reservations about Jol, he has history with a few of our players and none of it very good, Murphy, Zamora, Davis and Kelly have been shipped out by Jol in the past, let’s hope they have all put the past behind them

Well done guys in a swift and decent appointment! If only our board at The Mighty Villa could be so focused. And the name 'McClaren' keeps coming up again and again and making us all feel very, very sick indeed...

I am pleased! As far as his history with some of the squad, I dare say he already knows he can't touch Zamora, and as for the remainder, I'm not bothered.

I think you guys have definately signed the right man. If you guys could rebuild the Jol Hughton partnership I can personally see you finishing higher than 8th. Never understood why Tottenham got rid of him to be honest, I rate him higher than Redknapp.

Jol has a fantastic rapport with the fans and media, but as much as I think thi is a very good appointment, Jol isnt the ****** cat he makes out to be and if things arent to his liking he will kick off and cause internal problems.

well let's hope this goes smoothly, and he comes in with a clean slate in terms of players he has previously managed...

Parker Will Stay With Fulham

Parker's career in football as a player could come to an end at the end of the season but even if it does Jokanovic is expecting the veteran to remain at Fulham in some capacity.
