What Do You Think?

What Do You Think?

I`d hazard a guess that Mark Hughes could well be looking to improve the strikers he has available to him next season.

Now that statement isn`t intended as a slight on any of our existing strikers, most notably Moussa Dembele, Andrew Johnson and Bobby Zamora.

But with the futures of Eidur Gudjohnsen and Diomansy Kamara far from settled there may be a case for Hughes to add to his strike-force giving him a quartet of strikers.

The tabloid press are reporting that the Cardiff City hot-shot, Jay Bothroyd, has been released by Cardiff after failing to agree to a new contract.

Now it wasn`t too long ago that Bothroyd was being talked of as being a possible inclusion in the England squad.

So, our midweek teaser to you is - Should Fulham be considering bringing Bothroyd to Craven Cottage to supplement our current playing squad?

Don't know enough about him to comment.

Possibly, I think a lot depends on why he couldn’t agree a deal with Cardiff, how much does he think he is worth, I wouldn’t break the bank to get him.

No, thanks. He'll be 29 this year and nothing he's done suggests he can produce in PL. If we're looking to augment the forward line for not much money, we'd be better off looking at DJ Campbell from Blackpool. He's a year older, but he's shown get can score goals at PL level.

what about daniel sturridge? he's proven he can score in the prem and i doubt he'll have room at chelsea behind drogba, anelka and torres, nevermind kalou and malouda... or even danny welbeck... and both of them are younger than bothyrood or campbell, no?

After his display at Bolton, Sturridge's asking price has gone through the roof. No way we can afford him; maybe another loan, though. Probably the same scenario for Welbeck - too expensive, but a loan possible.

A good mid-level deal might be Demba Ba. I'd guess around £5m might do it.
