Hughes Name in the Frame (Again)

Although Mark Hughes has re-iterated his desire to remain at Craven Cottage and get his contract situation sorted out sooner rather than later, rumours still persist regarding an Aston Villa interest.

Today, once again, one leading tabloid brings up the subject of Aston Villa contemplating who could step into Gerrard Houllier`s shoes if the Frenchman isn`t deemed fit enough to return, full time, to club management duties after his recent health scare.

Once again, the same two names are thrown into the hat as suitable candidates - Mark Hughes and David Moyes!

Is it a genuine interest or merely another case of lazy journalism to fill up a sports page void?

We`ll let you decide!

that must be lazy journalism... hughes has stated he likes it here, and i can't see moyes leaving...

Think that it's both. Journo's are all lazy and repetitive. Put yourself in Sparky's shoes. Just made the (completely worthless and league season destroying ) Europa League and you've hit your ceiling with little chance of more investment from a crazy, aging owner who is selling up his assets. Do you want to continue flogging a dead horse playing in front of 20k per week OR, go to a VERY positive owner who doesn't neccesarily know the ins and outs of British football but is getting there and is one for building a legacy with a future and in front of a soon to be 50k ground?????? Easy decision for most. Rather have Moyes personally.

Villan444 where you in the league...and if not for darren bent you would be down! Not all great football teams have to be big money spending, big stadium, massive debts, showboat selfish players to be up there. We prove that!! Jog on!!
