'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Green, Green Grass of Home!

Tonight we should have been welcoming back two old friends!

But as is so often the case, things can change so very quickly in the world of football.

Last summer, both Roy Hodgson and Paul Konchesky decided that it would be a good idea to further their careers by swapping life next to the Thames for life next to the Mersey.

Both believed that better times lay ahead and that being involved, at Liverpool, would be something to reflect on in later life.

Well that was certainly the case wasn`t it?

Roy Hodgson, finally getting the chance to show what he could do at the helm of one of the biggest clubs in this country, never really got a fair crack of the whip at Anfield and his reign came to an abrupt end when the new owners decided the Kops favourite, Kenny Dalglish should be given the chance to turn things around. Subsequently, Roy has shown that there is nothing wrong with his managerial skills by leading West Bromwich Albion to safety.

Paul Konchesky, on the other hand, has found that all that glitters at Anfield is not gold and has dropped down, on loan, into the Championship as he contemplates moving to a new club this summer knowing that he has no real future at Anfield.

I guess the Craven Cottage grass can be viewed, on these occasions, as being greener than elsewhere!

I bet they wouldn't have left if they knew we were getting a Michael Jackson statue!

i don't know how to feel about hodgson... he wasn't given a fair shake, but king kenny has done the business... so was it that bad of an axe job? in the end thought, hodgson has done it again at brom... interestingly enough with an opposite mentality... just score more than the other team, ********* to clean sheets...
