Mr Dependable!

Mr Dependable!

There are, as we all know, only three games to go before the 2010/2011 season draws to a close.

Currently if my statistics are right, only one Fulham player has managed to participate in all thirty-five games played so far and that is our dependable centre back Aaron Hughes.

Last week, Mark Hughes took the previously unprecedented step of resting Brede Hangeland to give Philippe Senderos his debut.

Anybody else who thinks it`d be a crying shame if Hughes was given the same treatment in any of the last three games?

To play a complete season is a rarity these days and if Aaron has the chance of doing it perhaps we should encourage Hughes to allow such a feat to be achieved!

Absolutely, he has again been outstanding this season and with Senderos as cover we are looking good at the back.

Anyone know his contract situation? One of the most under rated players in the league.

I must confess that prior to Hodgson's arrival, I was not a big fan of Aaron Hughes. I felt he was slow and too easily beatin' in one v. one situations. However, he has been superb the past few seasons and as I've mentioned before, I'd put the Hangeland/Hughes tandem up against any CD pairing in the League. It's worth mentioning that he played all 38 PL matches in 08/09, as well. Mr. Dependable, indeed! He turns 32 next season, but unlike some of our other 'older' players, I don't have any concerns about Hughes.

i might be wrong, but i think he may have been subbed at the end of a game? am i wrong about that? for whatever reason i remember of of those two being subbed during the season, and i thought it was hughes... we have a great center back pairing, and it shows in our goals conceded record... best outside the top 4 i believe...

Always happens, doesn't it? As soon as you start praising a player, he has an awful game. Oh, well.
