Sidwell Gets Improved Fulham Deal

It`s been announced that Steve Sidwell, who arrived from Aston Villa in January, has had his contract extended until 2014.

Sidwell joined Fulham on a six month deal but Fulham have now taken up the option to extend the deal with a delighted Sidwell quoted as having said on the news being released,

"I`m delighted."

"Initially it was like a trial period and it was down to me to prove myself. It`s gone well, and there`s still a lot more to come."

With just eight appearance sot his name I`d say the latter half of that quote is quite true!

I don't think he's a good replacement for Murphy, but I think he's played well enough to earn the extension. I want O'Hara to replace Murphy.

OK, fine. No more O'Hara comments (for this week, anyway). Hey, I'd be OK with Charlie Adam or Darron Gibson or Thomas Hitzlsperger or Mario Götze or Nuri Şahin or Sejad Salihovic or Marvin Martin. My point is that I would like to see us sign a replacement for Murphy, and while I think Sidwell has a future with Fulham, I don't see him as the field general that Murphy's been for us, who can take charge of the game and run the team.
