'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What's better and what's worse under Hughes?

We all loved Roy, but he's gone, and after a poor pre-Christmas, things are looking up.

Okay, maybe we're not so tightly organised but it looks more likely we'll get some away wins.

On the other hand do we dominate like we used to at home?

Have our incoming players been as good as some of Roy's gems?

Has Hughes failed to recognise Gera's ability or is there no longer a place for him?

Now Zamora`s back will our scoring improve and can AJ get back to scoring a few more?

Is Murphy finally running out of time and can Sidwell replace him?

What do you think?

I think hughes has done a good job....with limited time to bring in 2 good players and slowly he has transformed the playing style. The players seem to enjoy this more. Games seem more exciting. If you look at the other teams around us they are leaking goals whislt we may not scored many we have let in one less in total. Figures speak. I think alot of those draws could have been wins, but equally losses!

Lets be fair, Hughes was a late appointment and I don't think many people at the club thought he was going to leave. He has added good players to the squad with the money he was given. Next season will be the real test of how good he is. This season was to adapt and begin to mould the team into his style of play. I'm optomistic of a top half finish this season and maybe a Europa league position next.

i've got my mind dreaming of europe next season with a stellar finish of this season, maybe we can nip in... dembele has been a great pick up... as good as brede, maybe not, but in the discussion... roy had some gems, in brede and bobby, but hughes has brought in dembele and sidwell... sidwell could be the answer to the long thought question, what do we do when danny hangs them up? our goal differential puts us in a great position in the table... any team around us tied on points will be below us on goal differential... we're starting to play well... hughes is a good manager, and we're lucky that man city didn't give him a chance...

The parity that has evolved in the PL this season has ramped up the pressure on Hughes. There's no Derby or Portsmouth this season to hold down the bottom of the table. Anyone in the bottom half (at this point) could find themselves being relegated by the end. Tough environment for the transition from Hodgson to Hughes. I can't complain about our results of late. Whether that comes down to the players finally accepting Hughes' system or Hughes' finally accepting the limitations of the squad, I don't know. Left up to me, Hughes would've been gone after the home loss to West Ham, but since that point, he's done well, so I have to give him credit for that and by the end of the campaign, perhaps I'll have to admit that I was totally wrong about him. I certainly hope so!
