'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - Supplying the Big Boys!

Sifting through the numerous news agency sites yesterday, I stumbled across a rumour that slightly worried me.

The rumour inferred that Manchester United were expressing an interest in signing our goalkeeper, David Stockdale.

Stockdale has sprung to prominence this season with some fine displays and those displays have taken him to the brink of his first international cap.

Many see Stockdale as the natural successor to Mark Schwarzer, in the Fulham side, but we`re realistic to know that if someone like Manchester United come knocking and the offer is sufficient then a club of our status rarely has the ability to say no.

We have only to reflect on the sale of a certain Chris Smalling to confirm that point. Fingers crossed that United find another target to focus on then!

say no. there's no way you can get the right amount of money that it would be worth to keep a somewhat homegrown talent that can be with the club for 15 years...

If they want him, they'll get him, but I seriously doubt there's anything in this. They just signed Lindegaard and I suspect that if they're looking for another keeper, it'll be one with CL experience.

I agree with Teddy, I doubt they would go for him, but I also agree with Woody. Good goalkeepers are hard to come by, and Stockdale is not only very good, he's also young and a home grown talent. Anyone would have to pay way over the odds for him in my opinion.

I really hope the lad stays because he has waited and been patient but very soon he will want the no.1 jersey. I just hope he gets it at fulham.....

i would LOVE to see an England International keeper wearing the No. 1 at Fulham, and having come up from the academy... it would make me quite happy and proud of the system at Fulham... Man U got their last keeper from Fulham, why not come back for his replacement?
