Fulham - Defensive Stalwarts!

As you`d expect, much of the words written in the tabloid press cover the performances of the two superstar strikers Chelsea have.

Any side blessed with the likes of Fernando Torres and Didier Drogba are always likely to be amongst the goals, however they both drew blanks at Craven Cottage last night.

However, you won`t find any accolades relating to our superb central defensive pairing of Brede Hangeland and Aaron Hughes who crushed the life out of the two aforementioned superstars.

It`s a point that Mark Hughes picked up on when he commented afterwards,

"My two centre-halves stuck to their task. They won`t get the adulation they deserve."

Apart from those in the know we`d add!

I can't say this very often when it comes to our personnel, but I'd put Hangeland and Hughes up against any other central defensive pairing in the PL.
