Fulham - Hughes Disappointed!

Okay, I`ll admit that we were doing a lot of chasing last night but as can so often be the case in such circumstances, we almost snatched victory at the death.

Mike Dean may have given us a slightly fortunate penalty but Mark Hughes was insistent afterwards that the spot-kick, which saw Petr Cech save from Clint Dempsey, should have been taken again with Hughes commenting in his traditional post-match interview,

"Drogba was encroaching. He was almost alongside Dempsey when he took the penalty."

"Mike Dean saw what happened and it should have been retaken."

"We are disappointed as it was a real opportunity to beat a very good side."

But, on the positive side, it still shows as another unbeaten fixture at home with the added bonus of a clean sheet as well!

The match commentators even made a point of mentioning Drogba's encroachment. It should've been retaken. As Hughes left the field, you could see the disappointment on his face. He knew what a huge miss that was. Pity Murphy had already been taken off as I suspect he would've taken the kick and we'd be talking about a great victory instead of an OK draw.

agreed... except i was disappointed in the tactics... we're at home against a swooning team... we should have attacked and not soaked up pressure... to say that goal opportunity was against the run of play would be the understatement of the season...
