'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Fulham - An Unlikely Winger Link!

After receiving rave reviews this season, Alex-Oxlade-Chamberlain son of the ex-England winger Mark Chamberlain; has been linked with a big money move away from Southampton to a host of top Premier League clubs.

It had been implied that Arsenal were favourites to land the eighteen year old but some news outlets are now inferring that proposed move has broken down although without citing any particular reasons.

Now, it appears that the name of Fulham Football Club is being suggested as a possible destination although one has to say that with a sum of 10 million being touted I`d be very surprised if Craven Cottage were where he`d finally end up!

I don't see it happening, but it would be an amazing bit of business on Al Fayed's part if we did get him. The lad has the potential to be the best England striker we've ever had.

I'm sorry fellow Vital Football fans. No disrespect to Fulham but this started yesterday morning as a spoof item on Southampton's local newspaper website. It's a ridiculous piece I put together, frustrated at the pathetic round of groundless speculation surrounding Oxlade-Chamberlain, mostly from The Daily Star and The Daily Mail. Here's the story: http://www.southampton.vitalfootball.co.uk/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=2892&posts=5

If you read the spoof you'll know nobody with half a brain could take it seriously. If you want to apportion blame, look to this pathetic media feeding frenzy we seem to have surrounding football at the moment.
