Fulham - Get Me A Striker - Now!

Sat in the bottom three, Mark Hughes is probably glad that the transfer window is now upon us.

Whilst he`s previously acknowledged that we lack a cutting edge and also acknowledges that our striking options will get better with the impending comebacks of Dembele and Zamora, Hughes has stated that he needs a new striker now, when he remarked to the press,

"It`s the here and now we are dealing with. We need that physical presence up there."

"Clint Dempsey has done great for me. It is not his natural position but he has done a hell of a job. He is a viable option but what we need is maybe just a new face around the building as well."

"We have players coming back. Moussa Dembele could be back in midweek and Bobby Zamora will be back in February. We`ll have option then but we want them now."

Would anyone like to throw any names into the hat?

I don't think we necessarily need a forward. We need someone who can score. We've gotten very few goals from the midfield. In fact, our backline has contributed more goals than the midfield. So, that would be my solution. If we're going to get a forward, then get someone who can create their own space and doesn't need to be set up. My preference would be a loan for Macheda, but it appears he's heading back to Italy, so I guess Traore is our only option.

As far as attacking mids, I'd look at Adel Taarabt, but I doubt QPR would go for it considering they're on the verge of promotion. As far as a direct replacement for Murphy, as I've stated before Salihovic, Misimovic or O'Hara would be my preference.
