Fulham - Baird the Hero!

It now looks to have been a sublime decision deciding to rest Carlos Salcido and give Chris Baird a run out.

The Northern Irish international settled the fixture at Stoke with two superb strikes, this despite not having scored for Fulham in any of his past 96 league appearances for Fulham.

After the game, Mark Hughes spoke of his surprise that Baird had taken so long to open his Premier League account for Fulham commenting,

"I`m surprised these are his first goals for us, because he`s arguably one of the best strikers of the ball that we have at the club."

"The first one, as soon as it sat up, I have seen him do that in training and must be goal of the season I would suggest."

Any chance of another brace against Spurs Chris?

First Hughes and now Baird. I wonder if any of our other players who haven't scored for us yet want to knock in a few. Maybe Pantsil, Salcido or even Schwarzer!

My exact sentiments RC! Hughes, Hangleland and baird have all scored, just pantsil to complete the loyal back four posse! Salcido has yet to prove a loyal player....so he can wait! Well with strike force struggling to score.....Dempsey the execption, the others have had to step up!

come on paintsil... i can't imagine his celebration...
