Fulham - No Cutting Edge!

Yesterday, losing to West Ham, certainly put a dampener on the festive celebrations.

Losing at home is bad enough but when you lose 3-1 to a team that hasn`t won away from home since August 2009 and has been sat at the bottom of the Premier League all season, it hurts.

Yesterday, once West Ham hit their third goal the stands emptied far too quickly for my liking and the chants of,

"Hughes out" and "Cheerio"

were certainly not something I`d anticipated when Hughes took over the managerial job back in the summer.

After the game, Hughes spoke about the chants and also where he perceived the problems lie, remarking,

"It was a little bit of frustration."

"The vast majority understand the problems we have in terms of lack of cutting edge."

"We just need a bit of help in January and we`ll be fine. Unless you finish off opportunities when they present themselves, given the opposition in the Premier League, the likelihood is you will concede."

The crux of the problem being though, just who will Mark Hughes turn to too add that cutting edge and just how much money will he be allowed to spend, especially with Bobby Zamora expected back in February!

If it was just the lack of a cutting edge, then we wouldn't have given up three goals, Sparky. Come up with another excuse. Try that 'bad luck' thing again.
