Fulham - Sorry Martin!

Here at Vital Fulham we`d like to concoct some sort of apology!

Yesterday, in a fit of pique, we put two and two together and inferred that Martin Jol has quit Ajax to chase down the Newcastle job.

We also inferred that perhaps Jol though Newcastle were a far moe attractive option than Craven Cottage!

Well it looks like we were wrong on both counts with Jol distancing himself from the Newcastle job because of the way his good friend, Chris Hughton, was treated by the north-east club.

However, our intrigue relating to the Jol situation has manifested itself in our recent poll!

You can argue that Hughton wasn't the long-term solution for a club of Newcastle's stature (over-inflated self-importance might be a more appropriate description), but I thought Hughton had given a decent account of himself during his time in charge and at the very least deserved better treatment at the hands of Ashley. The managerial merry-go-round is what caused their relegation in the first place and it appears they've decided to roll those dice again.
